# Keyboard shortcuts

Every keyboard shortcut in Studio: everywhere, in the content list, in the editing view and the canvas, for chapters, and in the media library.

The most useful shortcut is **Command+K** (Ctrl+K on Windows), which opens the [command menu](https://strife.app/docs/user-guide/command-menu.md) wherever you are. These are the others.

On Windows, use Ctrl where a Mac uses Command, and Alt where a Mac uses Option.

### Everywhere

| Windows | Mac | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Ctrl+K | Command+K | Open the command menu |
| Alt+Shift+Q | Option+Shift+Q | Sign out |

### In the content list

| Windows | Mac | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Ctrl+F | Command+F | Search the list by name |
| ↑ and ↓ | ↑ and ↓ | Move through the list |
| Ctrl+E | Command+E | Edit the selected page in a panel over the list |
| Ctrl+P | Command+P | Open the selected page in the editing view |
| Esc | Esc | Clear a selection of several pages |
| C | C | Compose a new page (new interface; see [Compose a page](https://strife.app/docs/user-guide/getting-the-basics/compose-a-new-document.md) for where it goes) |

### In the editing view

| Windows | Mac | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| J | J | Go to the next page in the list |
| K | K | Go to the previous page in the list |
| Esc | Esc | Go back |
| Ctrl+I | Command+I | Show or hide the editor panel |
| G, then C | G, then C | Go to the content list |

**J**, **K** and **Esc** only work when no field or button has focus. Click an empty part of the page first if they don't.

### In the canvas

| Windows | Mac | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Ctrl + | Command + | Zoom in |
| Ctrl - | Command - | Zoom out |
| Ctrl 0 | Command 0 | Zoom to 100 % |
| Ctrl 1 | Command 1 | Zoom to fit |
| Ctrl 2 | Command 2 | Zoom to fill |

### In chapters and references

With a chapter selected in the list of chapters:

| Windows | Mac | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Enter or Ctrl+E | Enter or Command+E | Edit the chapter |
| Ctrl+C | Command+C | Make a copy of the chapter |
| R | R | Rename the chapter |
| Ctrl+Backspace | Command+Backspace | Remove the chapter |
| A | A | Add a chapter |

In a field that lists other documents, **Command+E** (Ctrl+E) edits the selected document and **Command+Backspace** (Ctrl+Backspace) removes it from the page. See [Chapters](https://strife.app/docs/user-guide/getting-the-basics/chapters.md).

### In the media library

| Windows | Mac | What it does |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Ctrl+F | Command+F | Search the library |
| Ctrl+Shift+U | Command+Shift+U | Upload files |
